Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a ServiceNow Associate Software Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications in a hybrid workplace. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile setting to deliver scalable, secure software solutions that power Sun Life's operations globally.

The role combines hands‑on development with operational excellence, including on‑call rotations and a focus on automation, security, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Recent graduates with 0–2 years of internship/co‑op experience, OR professionals with 3–5 years of software development or application support experience.
• Hands‑on programming experience with languages like JavaScript, Python, or similar.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, shell scripting).
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts (Agile, DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and integration solutions.
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective solution designs.
• Write, maintain, and optimize code, scripts, and automation tools.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams—engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders—to deliver real results.
• Participate fully in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
• Provide hands‑on application support, resolving incidents and troubleshooting issues.
• Contribute to clear system and project documentation.
• Champion security, compliance, and change management best practices.
• Identify and drive automation opportunities that enhance efficiency.
• Join rotational on‑call support to ensure production systems run smoothly.
