SERVICE WRITER

Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Service Writer to join our team at our Thunder Bay branch.

What you will do :

  • Create service orders with estimated costs and work time
  • Secure payment and process customer invoices
  • Monitor repair progress and update customers
  • Maintain accurate repair orders and bill parts accordingly
  • Provide warranty interpretation to customers
  • Uphold and embody FGI Customer Service Standards and Core Values with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Champion FGI's safety culture by performing all duties within established procedures and practices
  • May pick up parts from customer locations
  • May be required to pick up or drop off customers at various locations
  • Other duties as assigned

What we require :

  • High school diploma, GED, or other high school equivalence certificate
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of service shop procedures and repair times preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills - dedicated to exceeding expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Strong written and verbal skills - ability to write and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic to proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (email, Word, excel) and ability to learn in-house systems.
  • Adequate typing skills (approximately 30 wpm)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
