Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Service Writer or Apprentice HD Technician.
  • Knowledge of the Heavy-Duty Trucking industry.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily workflow reporting to the Service Team & Dispatchers.
  • Book in trucks and trailers for repair schedules.
  • Manage and track truck and trailer safeties.

Job description

Vertex is currently accepting applications for a Service Writer to work out of our Dawson Creek location. The successful candidate must be experienced working with parts and maintenance for a Heavy-Duty Fleet.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Service Writer position or as an Apprentice HD Technician
  • Knowledge of the Heavy-Duty Trucking industry an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact positively with others.
  • Enjoys a fast-paced environment.
  • Thrives in an atmosphere that requires problem solving.
  • Enjoys taking charge of a situation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide daily workflow reporting and actionable items to the Service Team & Dispatchers
  • Book in trucks, trailers and other equipment for repair schedule
  • Communicate and keep up to date with their job repair status at appropriate intervals
  • Assist in managing and completing mechanics timesheets in a timely manner
  • Opening and closing work orders
  • Provide estimates and quoting repair work
  • Create PO numbers
  • Manage and track monthly truck and trailer safeties: CVIP’s, VK’s and 5-year inspections
  • Count inventory and manage consumables
  • Meet deadlines for work orders to be entered and approved for payroll and accounting
  • Order and pick up parts and materials needed for repair
  • Perform other related duties as well as administrative tasks when required oras directed by the manager.
