Job description

Your Opportunity:

The Service Worker II within the Operating Room is responsible, under limited supervision, to ensure the surgical theatres are stocked with appropriate supplies, ensure the case carts are complete with all required clean /disinfected instrumentation and supplies. Set up the OR theatre equipment and supplies according to the surgical preference card. The Service Worker assists within the sterile core to ensure supplies are put away and/or gather supplies as needed. The Service Worker is responsible to ensure specialty carts and sub-sterile rooms are appropriately stocked at all times. The Service Worker is responsible for the proper movement, cleaning, and storage of the equipment used within the OR. The Service Worker II is required to clearly and effectively communicate with the multi-disciplinary team within the busy fast paced operating room environment. Under direct supervision the Service Worker II assists with positioning patients prior to surgery and transporting patients.

Description:

As a Service Worker II, you will be responsible for readying supplies, and cleaning/disinfecting instruments and specialty equipment for immediate use/reuse by healthcare staff. You will distribute and replenish patient care supplies, perform quality control tests on equipment and record maintenance data. You may also transport patients (clients/residents), equipment, lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required. In addition, you will ensure that patient care areas and other assigned areas are accurately stocked and that specialty equipment required by the healthcare staff is available.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience within an Operating room or Surgical setting.
