Job summary

Alberta Health Services invites applications for a Service Worker I in the Emergency Department. You will transport patients and equipment across hospital areas, distribute supplies, and keep care areas clean. You may transport lab specimens and patient charts, reporting safety concerns to Unit Managers.

Shift patterns include days, evenings and weekends. Requirements include Grade 12, BLS with Level C AED, one year porter/attendant experience, and strong English comprehension.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Current BLS - Heart and Stroke AED Level C, Healthcare Provider Registration required (certificate)
• One year experience as a porter/attendant required.
• English language comprehension, both oral and written, is required.
• Physical ability to push stretchers, carts, wheelchairs, and bending/reaching are required.

Responsibilities

The attendant is an integral member of the health care team, supporting Adults and Stollery in a family centered care within a busy tertiary Emergency Department.

Description:

As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to meet the physical demands associated with the job i.e. pushing stretchers, carts, wheelchairs, and bending, reaching, is required.
