Recovery Alberta is seeking a Service Worker I to support Corrections health services in Lethbridge. You will transport patients and equipment within hospital sites, stock and replenish supplies, and assist nurses with medication orders while following IPC guidelines.
You will help maintain unit cleanliness, monitor equipment, and coordinate with Biomed. This is a regular full-time day position with a rotating shift pattern and opportunities to grow within the team.
This job is the potpourri of healthcare in Corrections. It involves stocking and maintaining inventory, assisting the nurses with medication orders, basic housekeeping of the unit following the guidelines of IPC, monitoring the maintenance of equipment and working with Biomed to ensure this is complete. As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/ residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Good work ethic. Effective communication skills with a multidisciplinary team. Time management skills. Experience with stocking and inventory control.
Familiar with healthcare settings. Familiar with the standards set by Infection, prevention and control.
