Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our Grande Prairie Construction and Forestry location. You will repair and maintain construction and forestry machinery in a shop setting, using John Deere Service Advisor and other diagnostic tools.

Ideal candidates have a trade qualification in heavy equipment, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, or Truck/Transport.
• 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Possess computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration work.
• Possess diagnostic skills to understand repair needs.
• Strong time management to perform under pressure.
• Excellent written and oral communication, with commitment to quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently evaluate the working condition of equipment, diagnose, disassemble/assemble, order parts, and repair in a shop environment.
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
• Accurately document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
• Assess service task hazards and ensure safe work practices and standards.
• Use computer applications (e.g. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance and diagnosis.
• Use parts catalogues to locate and order parts from parts personnel.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our Grande Prairie Construction and Forestry location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For
