As a Technician in the Refurb Department, you are key to our after-sales service. You are responsible for assisting with repairs of our products and equipment, including electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic, and gasoline-powered tools, supporting the sale of accessories and parts, as well as answering general product questions.

What will you work on?

  1. Visually inspect and test products/equipment.
  2. Dismantle products/equipment and repair within Makita Canada Inc. standards.
  3. Troubleshoot and identify malfunctioning or inoperative equipment.
  4. Assemble and test tools to ensure proper performance levels.
  5. Ensure appropriate service levels are maintained.
  6. Perform other related duties as required.

To be successful, you will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of related experience repairing tools/equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience using and repairing electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic, and gasoline-powered tools.
  • Experience with desktop software applications.

What you bring to the team:

  • Understanding: Ability to read, interpret, and explain documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to prioritize work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, shipping, and receiving is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment, with the ability to stand and/or sit for long periods, including reaching, lifting, pushing/pulling, bending, and twisting.
