Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Field Service Technician for our St-Augustin location. You will independently perform diagnostics, service, maintenance and repair work on customer equipment in a field environment, including customer shops, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution.

The role requires 3 years of relevant experience and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, plus strong diagnostic, communication, and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate within budgets and approvals established by the Service Manager.
  • Maintain productivity, efficiency and gross margin toward branch goals.
  • Aim for 98% first-time quality to minimize rework and satisfy customers.
  • Perform basic to complex diagnostics on power equipment to identify repair needs.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical, electrical or hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Mentor apprentices and participate in required training.

Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Service Technician for our St-Augustin location.

TheField Service Technicianis responsible forindependently performing basic to complex diagnostics, servicemaintenanceand repair work on customer equipment efficiently in a field environment, which could include customer shops. They are also responsible for providing quality service to customers and ensuring all issues are resolved satisfactorily andin a timely manner.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Operate within budgets and approvalsestablishedby the Service Manager.
  • Maintainhigh levelsof productivity, efficiency, and gross margin to contribute positively to branch goals.
  • Achieve and uphold a quality of work metric of 98%, ensuring work is completed correctly the first time to minimize rework and enhance customer satisfaction.

Diagnostic and Repair Services

  • Perform basic to complex diagnostics on power equipment to accuratelyidentifyrepair needs and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose, disassemble, assemble, and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems to restoreoptimalequipment performance.
  • Conduct customer, manufacturer, and government-mandated inspections to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as fluid and filter changes, battery testing, brake system adjustments, and lubrication to prolong equipment life.
  • Execute advanced mechanical repairs, including engine and transmission diagnosis, repair, or replacement, to resolve complex issues.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Systems and Procedures
  • Maintain current product knowledge specific to equipment and industry standards relevant to the branch location.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Follow all safety rules and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) standards.
  • Ensure compliance with proper procedures for hazardous waste disposal.
  • Work within guidelines set by managers to ensure consistent and quality service delivery.
  • Perform all service tasks assigned by the Service Manager or Service Department Foreman.
  • Participate in required training programs, including industry-specific technology training.
  • Maintain and care for departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Mentor and oversee apprentices to support their professional growth.
