Job summary

Medline Canada seeks a field service technician to ensure on-site dental equipment operates correctly, troubleshoot and repair devices, and assist with installations and maintenance contracts. You will travel between dental offices across the territory, support emergency calls, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires a valid Canadian driver’s license, willingness to work evenings/weekends for emergencies, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Certification or diploma in mechanical/electrical repair is preferred.
  • Dental equipment manufacturer certification is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience repairing equipment.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or plumbing systems.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to manage workload with limited supervision and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to service requests and maintain high client service levels.
  • Coordinate with Sales Reps and Service Coordinators; complete work orders.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and arrange parts, tools, and repairs.
  • Install and support new equipment; promote maintenance contracts.
  • Travel daily between dentists' offices; support emergencies; follow safety protocols.

Job Description Summary

This position is responsible to ensure that customer’s on-site dental equipment is operating properly. Work mainly focuses on troubleshooting and repairing of equipment, as well as supporting the installation of equipment and the sales of maintenance contracts.

Job Description DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a high level of client service by Responding promptly to service requests
  • Following through on commitments to customers and internal colleagues
  • Listening to customer issues
  • Communicating client service information with the Sales Representatives and the Service Coordinators
  • Completing work orders
  • Maintaining appropriate tools, supplies and parts within vehicle
  • Maintain client equipment by Documenting equipment issues and completed repairs
  • Diagnosing equipment issues and arranging for required parts, supplies or tools
  • Communicating equipment issues and recommended repairs to the customers
  • Adjusting, repairing or calibrating equipment based on manufacturer’s specifications
  • Following through on maintenance contracts
  • Supports new equipment installations by Providing follow up support within committed timelines
  • Verifying equipment is set to manufacturer’s specifications
  • Selling maintenance contracts
  • Maintain a safe and respectful environment by Reporting incidents, injuries or near misses
  • Conducting oneself in accordance with Sinclair’s policies
  • Participating in ongoing educational programs
Qualification & Skill Requirements
  • Dental Equipment Manufacturer certification training a huge asset
  • Certification, Diploma or Degree in mechanical, electrical, small machine repair etc. is an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience repairing equipment
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or plumbing
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Aptitude for problem solving
  • Able to prioritize and organize work schedule with limited supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Position Specific Requirements
  • Daily travel between dentists’ offices throughout the territory
  • Valid Canadian or equivalent driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Available to work evening and weekends to support emergency call outs
  • Periodically required to travel overnight to provide support to clients
  • Able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand and small power tools

The anticipated salary range for this position: $58,100.00 - $87,100.00 Annual
