Hobart Food Equipment Group Canada is looking for an Appliance Repair Technician for Charlottetown and surrounding areas. Hobart is a well-established company providing competitive wages and benefits.

Responsibilities:

This position is for a commercial appliance repair technician. Previous experience in the appliance repair industry (residential/commercial) is a definite asset. Responsibilities include performing field service consisting of adjusting, aligning, assembling, calibrating, inspecting, lubricating, and testing of commercial food prep/kitchen equipment. Strong electrical knowledge and the ability to read wiring diagrams are assets, along with good troubleshooting skills and mechanical knowledge. The candidate must be able to work with limited supervision and possess an outgoing personality with strong communication skills, as well as a desire to succeed in a customer-focused environment.

Other duties include:

  • Assisting others in equipment installations or in performing major repairs
  • Attending and completing service training schools and audiovisual field training as required
  • Assisting in obtaining service/preventative maintenance contracts
  • Assisting in product demonstrations

Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma (minimum)
  • College graduate of a Mechanical – Electrical – Electronic course is an asset
  • Excellent mechanical/electrical/electronic aptitude
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience is an asset
  • Ability to learn new technology
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Able to travel to the USA and attend training schools
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Organized, accountable, and self-motivated
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Preference will be given to those with a valid G2 gas certificate or who are certified to work on HVAC equipment.
