Description and Requirements

We are seeking a full-time Service Technician / Gas Fitter A to join the Hinton, AB team. You are a candidate with a strong technical background and hands-on experience with troubleshooting and maintenance, with a commitment to ensuring safety and efficiency of our systems.

What you'll do :

  • Apply advanced technical knowledge in the installation and service of complex residential and commercial propane and natural gas related equipment, including repairs, dispenser inspections, re-qualifying cylinders, and the installation and service of propane tanks and appliances.
  • Operate crane trucks and other service vehicles safely for tank installations, relocations, and pickups.
  • Maintain, request, and stock the service truck with inventory. Ensure all necessary parts, materials, supplies, and equipment are available to perform daily work orders and meet customer requests.
  • Apply lock-out procedures in unsafe customer installations.
  • Accurately prepare and submit daily service work orders and DTRs utilizing OBTC technology.
  • Maintain the highest safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, including conducting and documenting pre- and post-vehicle inspections, site inspections, and visual tank inspections.
  • Collaborate with the Service Coordinator for routing and scheduling, and notify them immediately of any issues or safety concerns.
  • Inform your manager of any successes, issues, or challenges, and obtain approval for overtime, submitting hours bi-weekly.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promoting the company's products and services and maintaining good customer relations.

What you bring :

  • A Class A gas technician license
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Propane industry experience is a strong asset
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Excellent knowledge of B149 code
  • Valid Class 3 driver’s license and incident-free driver’s abstract
