Position: Journeyman Red Seal Technician

Your role

As an Automotive Technician, your main duties include diagnosing, testing, and repairing vehicle systems to ensure safety and functionality, utilizing specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. You will conduct preventative maintenance, inspect key vehicle components, and perform repairs or replacements. Mentoring apprentices and maintaining a safe work environment are also part of your responsibilities.

Daily tasks
  • Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance efficiently and accurately, adhering to dealership and OEM standards.
  • Communicate regularly with Parts and Service Advisors to manage repairs, cycle times, and customer communication.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections, recommend repairs, and ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Document all work on repair orders clearly and accurately, ensuring warranty payments are processed correctly.
  • Maintain a personal inventory of essential tools not provided by the store.
  • Stay updated with factory bulletins and participate in training as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service to foster loyalty and increase department revenue.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of various makes and models.
  • Provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, 1st Class Journeyman - Master Technician.
  • Red Seal Certification is an asset.
  • Post-secondary training or related courses.
  • Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
