Qualifications

• 5+ years performing complex service repairs/maintenance.
• Ability to operate vehicles/equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs repeatedly; 40-75 lbs on occasion.
• Ability to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assign/schedule all service department jobs for technicians based on their skills/knowledge.
• Motivate, coach, and develop employees to pursue excellence.
• Optimize shop efficiency and flow to avoid lost billable hours.
• Ensure effective communication with customers and employees.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and training.
• Provide back up support for Service Business Manager during absences/peak seasons.
• Direct/assist technicians in diagnosis and troubleshooting of machine problems.
• Perform final checks/approvals on equipment before start of work order.
• Provide exceptional customer service consistently above standards.
• Assist service staff in quoting repairs and maintaining records.
• Build productive team dynamics with internal departments.
• Conduct safety meetings and encourage safe working habits.

Requirements

• Ag Equipment Tech (JDTECH) Journeyperson Certification/equivalent
• Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of ag/turf equipment
• Ability to use current business systems, working knowledge of computer functions and use.
