We have an immediate opening for a Service Sales Representative in our Fort McMurray Branch. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this position is responsible for responding to bid/tender, design-build, and customer opportunities. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and a diverse range of job tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Build relationships with Architects, Engineers, and Design-Build Consultants.
- Attend industry and customer events; entertain top and prospective customers as appropriate.
- Source and communicate new business opportunities and market intelligence to the Branch Manager and Director of Sales.
- Understand CDS’ products, make recommendations, and explain product applications to customers and end users.
- Follow up and qualify all generated leads.
- Drive gross margin, win ratios, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Create comprehensive quotes based on verbal customer requests.
- Negotiate scope additions and resolve issues with customers.
- Close and book incoming business.
- Develop submittals and shop drawings for review and approval.
- Review data to determine material and labor requirements; prepare itemized lists.
- Prepare estimates for management use, including planning and scheduling.
- Calculate costs for projects or services using specialized methodologies.
- Analyze job specifications to ensure all necessary information is included.
- Consult with clients and vendors to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
- Determine total costs for proposed and actual jobs; compare quantities and methods.
- Coordinate with production to create and record production plans, quote prices, and verify feasibility.
- Analyze job cost studies to assess estimating accuracy and report variances.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Three+ years of experience in commercial estimating or related training; or equivalent education and experience.
- Education in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
- Proven sales record, disciplined, organized.
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle.
- Ability to interpret tender documents and specifications; effective communicator.
