Job description

The Service Technician, Welding Equipment is a hands-on support position which operates across all three sites as primary support for repairing, testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of welding equipment. The goal is to keep the equipment maintained and operational to ensure the safety of the employees, the quality of the product, and the efficiency of all welding equipment and systems.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years' experience in electrical or mechanical repair of equipment
  • Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in diagnosing equipment to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively
  • Proven knowledge of comprehending mechanical, electrical schematics, and/or service manuals as required for area of responsibility
  • Certified Technician/Technologist or equivalent from Community College (Programs with focus on electrical or mechanical studies)
Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance for welding and burning equipment and components by completing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and calibration requirements.
• Perform problem solving and diagnosis of electrical and mechanical issues for welding equipment by following diagrams, service manuals, and engineering specifications.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Liaise with production teams as required to ensure equipment is performing and operating to meet production requirements.
• Identify opportunities for improved safety, efficiency, cost saving, or regulatory gaps.
• Assist in anticipating ISI weld equipment inventory requirements.
• Work with Inventory Control Team to ensure availability of critical equipment and forecast spare part requirements.
