Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Service Now Developer to analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in Role:
- Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts.
- Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement, and support solutions.
- Ensure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met.
- Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment.
- Adapt quickly to change and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Work closely with customers, Business Analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions.
- Involved in the full system lifecycle, responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, and supporting applications software delivered on time and within budget.
- Understand how the bank’s risk appetite and culture should be considered in daily activities and decisions.
- Promote a high-performance environment and implement strategies to attract, retain, develop, and motivate the team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicate vision, values, and business strategy; and manage succession and development planning.
Must-Have Skills:
- 8-10 years of experience as an IT Developer.
- 3-5 years of development experience in ServiceNow, with hands-on troubleshooting and development within the platform.
- ServiceNow Advanced System Administration certification or training is required.
- 3+ years of experience in systems design, with a solid understanding of development, QA, and integration methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow components such as ACLs, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, REST, and SOAP.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Research and development skills for leveraging new features of the ServiceNow platform.
- Experience with iterative and agile SDLC.
- Experience with PAM (CyberArk) is highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of large or multiple small applications.
- Ability to work on systems integration projects.
- Independent troubleshooting skills.
- ITIL Foundation certification or training.
Soft Skills:
- Good time management skills for handling multiple assignments.
- Ability to analyze complex situations.
- Effective stakeholder presentation skills.
- Team player mentality.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- ServiceNow admin, ITIL training, or certification.
