To support our expansion, we are looking for a
Field Service Technician
based in Prince Edward Island or New Brunswick , Canada to join our North American team.
Following a comprehensive training period on our machines and technologies, both in-house and at customer sites, you will play a key role in the commissioning, servicing, and support of our sensor-based sorting solutions.
About the JOB :
- System Installation & Commissioning : Take the lead in installing and configuring Insort’s state-of-the-art sorting and inspection systems at customer sites across North America.
- Maintenance & Service Operation : Carry out scheduled maintenance, perform system upgrades and retrofits, and handle repairs to keep machines running at peak performance.
- Training & Customer Support : Deliver hands-on training for machine operators and maintenance personnel, offering ongoing technical support and guidance.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics : Identify and resolve mechanical, electronic, sensor, and software issues in collaboration with our internal engineering teams.
- Technical Reporting : Document all commissioning and service activities, including performance assessments and improvement suggestions.
- Feedback & Product Optimization : Share on-the-ground insights and provide structured feedback to help enhance product functionality and reliability.
- Remote Assistance : Support customers remotely when not traveling — including diagnostics, updates, and technical problem-solving.
About YOU :
- Educational Background : A technical diploma or degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field is a plus.
- Industry Experience : Practical experience in mechanical or electrical systems, field service work, food processing, or optical sorting technologies is desirable.
- Technical Know-How : Confident in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and experienced in troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical systems.
- IT & Connectivity Skills : Strong grasp of networked systems, remote diagnostics tools, and basic software troubleshooting.
- Communication & Training : Clear and confident communicator — both written and verbal — with a knack for explaining technical content to diverse audiences.
- Work Style : Self-motivated, organized, and solution-focused, with a drive for quality and continuous improvement.
- Team Spirit : Collaborates well across teams and disciplines; willing to share insights and learn from others.
- Travel Readiness : Open to traveling approximately 40–50% of the time within North America, with occasional training visits to our European HQ.

Work Schedule : 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with flexible hours typically between 6 : 00 AM and 6 : 00 PM. Overtime and occasional weekend work will be required, depending on the work schedule and service demand.
Compensation : Competitive salary of $70,000–$80,000 per year (base salary) plus overtime.
Remote work : This is a remote work position. Work from your home office to support our North American Customers remotely on non-travel days.
Vacation Time : 15 days of paid vacation (3 weeks).
