About Mount Sinai Fertility

Mount Sinai Fertility is committed to making the best options available to patients seeking to create families and preserve their fertility while supporting their overall health and well-being. We are an ambulatory unit, open 7 days a week with 3 satellite locations in the Greater Toronto Area. Our average annual number of treatment cycles is 3,400.

As a teaching hospital, we help train the next generation of fertility professionals. We offer a wide range of fertility treatments including: Cycle Monitoring, Timed Intercourse, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT), Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), Medically Indicated Fertility Preservation, Egg Freezing and Sperm Banking.

In this role you will:

  1. Clean instruments, patient equipment, exam beds, stretchers, and fridges.
  2. Wrap and pouch instruments to send to central sterilizing.
  3. Pick up linen carts, fold and distribute clean linen, ensure adequate supplies of linen, collect soiled linen from all units, and replace bags in linen hampers.
  4. Stock individual clinic rooms with linen, medical and surgical supplies.
  5. Distribute mail.
  6. Ensure cleanliness of bathrooms and top-up supplies as required.
  7. Assist with transporting equipment, nutritional supplies, files and records to and from the main hospital.
  8. Receive supplies via courier for medical-surgical carts. Direct orders and distribute to the ordering office.
  9. Vacuum filters and ceiling vents as required.
  10. High level disinfection of ultrasound probe.
  11. Collect and deliver patient specimens.
  12. Pick up medications from MSH pharmacy as required.
  13. Environmental room turnover and terminal clean.
  14. Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory

  • Successful completion of a high school diploma.

Preferred

  • Certification in Central Sterilization Course (CSAO).
  • 1 year housekeeping experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to take direction and work co-operatively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the job which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting of patients/equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients/families/co-workers.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to be flexible/adaptable in a quickly changing work environment.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
