Job description

Toromont Cat is looking for a Service Advisor to join our team! This position provides technical direction and accountability for scheduling all equipment repairs with internal and external teams within service operations, while maintaining good communication with customers throughout the repair cycle. The Service Advisor collaborates with the Supervisor and Coordinator to ensure quotes, timelines, and process flow support accurate and timely WIP (work-in-progress) processing.

In a typical day, YOU will :

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound, and healthy work behaviors at all times, supporting Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies and initiatives
  • Update and manage Service Scheduler accurately and promptly
  • Schedule machine repairs and preventative maintenance for Technicians
  • Coordinate with Service Supervisors, MSRs, and PSSRs to meet repair deadlines
  • Provide customer support via calls and follow-up during and after repairs
  • Open and structure work orders, check service letters, warranty status, customer pay arrangements, history, and codes for upload into Service Scheduler
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate service reports from Technicians
  • Source parts and tools during job setup and provide shipping instructions to the site
  • Manage local purchases, review work orders for invoicing, and ensure credits and parts are processed and submitted
  • Assist with Warranty and Goodwill processing, including documentation and no-charge claims
  • Maintain current information for Service Supervisors, Product Support Manager, MSRs, and PSSR
  • Review and maintain WIP daily to support invoicing and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

Must-haves for this role :

  • Minimum post-secondary education
  • At least 5 years of experience in service operations
