Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is hiring a Dining Room Server for Brants Landing Retirement Residence in Brantford. The role supports hospitality-style dining, serving residents according to the Ready, Set, Serve program, and maintains cleanliness and safety standards.

You will need Smart Serve or SIRS designation, one year of dining room service experience, and good English communication. Sienna offers a competitive salary, health benefits, SOAR, employee share purchase plan, ongoing learning

Qualifications

• Must have Smart Serve designation or Serve It Right (SIRS) designation (for Saskatchewan locations) and one year experience in dining room service.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
• Safe Food Handling Certification preferred.
• Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process is an asset.
• Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of hospitality style dining service to meet residents' needs.
• Assist with preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout food prep and service as required by health department.
• Promote and track a la carte and wine service sales in prescribed procedures.
• Comply with provincial regulations and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready.
• Participate in drills and education sessions for emergency preparedness.
• Work in accordance with Health and Safety policies and Occupational Health and Safety Act.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Dining Room Server is accountable to support all aspects of hospitality style dining room service to meet the needs of the Residents in accordance with legislative requirements and organization standards.

• Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables;


• Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;


• Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;


• Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;


• Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready;


• Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.


• Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
