As a Restaurant Server, you contribute significantly to our success. You directly impact the level of service we offer to our guests through your service and interactions. Additionally, you serve as the key liaison between the front of the house and the kitchen, and your clear communication ensures a smooth service. Responsibilities and Authorities:
- Always treat guests with courtesy and respect in all situations.
- Practice honesty and integrity.
- Maintain open communication with managers and all departments.
- Complete all opening duties as assigned.
- Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards.
- Adhere to hotel health and safety guidelines.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings.
- Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Report any accidents or incidents immediately.
- Greet guests with eye contact and use guest names when possible.
- Report guest concerns to management promptly.
Specific Duties:
- Take food and beverage orders, making recommendations and reading guest cues.
- Input orders accurately into the POS system and document on a backup pad.
- Serve beverages promptly, ideally from the right and to the right of the guest.
- Open wine and champagne bottles using proper techniques.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond quickly.
- Interact courteously and professionally with guests and staff.
- Handle guest complaints proactively and courteously.
- Alert management to issues at tables.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas.
- Manage bread service, stock, and quality throughout the shift.
- Prepare and deliver bread and condiments as needed.
- Clear courses promptly and correctly, resetting tables per standards.
- Stay updated on menu items and changes.
- Recognize and attend to high-value guests and special needs.
- Alert kitchen to allergies and communicate with food runners.
- Ensure accuracy of checks and process payments efficiently.
- Complete end-of-shift checkouts and side-work.
- Follow responsible alcohol service practices, including checking IDs and avoiding serving intoxicated guests.
- Stock all service items to standard and report shortages.
- Deliver food accurately and enthusiastically, announcing each item.
- Answer guest questions and describe menu items confidently.
- Follow front of house and kitchen etiquette and procedures.
- Coordinate with the kitchen regarding table status and courses.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across all areas.
- Reset and prepare tables for new guests.
- Complete additional cleaning and opening duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).
Certifications:
- TIPS certification required.
