Position: Food Runner

Department: FOH - Buca

The Assistant Server provides support to Servers by monitoring food quality prior to delivering dishes to tables, and then providing explanation of each dish to the guests. Have a high level of floor awareness and has exceptional knowledge of all menu offerings.

  • Responsibilities
  • Answer questions about food, beverage, wine and other restaurant functions and services when necessary
  • Assist with Cart Service and Food Reception
  • Communicate with Servers and Hosts to maximize seating
  • Inspect all tables for proper mise en place, cleanliness and completeness
  • Practice a high level of floor awareness and maintain a clean appearance as required
  • Ensure that plates arrive to the proper guest and each plate is described to the guest
  • Monitor food quality and presentation standards
  • Monitor the cleanliness of the section and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems
  • Communicate guest feedback to Servers to ensure a positive, memorable experience
  • Other duties as assigned or required
