About Us
Wentworth Hospitality Group (Tableau Bar Bistro, Homer St. Cafe & Bar, Maxine’s Cafe & Bar) is looking for servers for Folietta, their new Italian restaurant concept, located in Vancouver’s storied Nanaimo and Grant neighbourhood. Folietta is inspired by iconic Italian culinary regions and each dish reflects a passion for high-quality food.

Position Summary

Our team delivers friendly and efficient food and beverage service, in line with our next level guest experience standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Providing fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests.
  2. Being exhaustively familiar with all food and beverage items on the menu, inclusive of an array of wines, chef specialties, and communicating how the meal will be coursed, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
  3. Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording guests’ choices and identifying guests’ dietary needs and special requests.
  4. Selling on a consistent basis, while continuing to create new opportunities and strategies for increasing the cheque average.
  5. Create a competitive sale driven environment and set personal sales goals for yourself every shift.
  6. Regular food running, understanding drop lines and best practice in terms of communicating dishes table side.
  7. Anticipate your guest’s needs and excel at reading your tables. Create a roster of return clientele.
  8. Performing the opening and closing procedures i.e., the set up and break down of stations, clearing and re-setting up of tables, etc.
  9. Performing accurate cash & credit handling as well as POS procedures.
  10. Maintaining and ensuring the overall cleanliness of assigned station(s) and establishment.
  11. Protecting the restaurant and guests by complying with sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  12. Strive to provide and influence others on the team to create a ‘next level’ guest experience.
Skills & Qualifications
  1. Education: Valid BC Foodsafe Certification & BC Serving it Right Certification.
  2. Experience: prior experience in a food-serving establishment.
  3. Self-motivated, organized, and ability to multi-task effectively.
  4. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, days, nights, and weekends.
  5. Must be punctual and reliable.
  6. Ability to work varied hours.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills with guests and employees.
  8. Customer service focus and quality orientated.
  9. Adaptable and flexible.
  10. High energy level.
