Job summary

Aspira Pacifica Retirement Living in Surrey, BC is hiring a Server for a permanent full-time role with 75 hours biweekly. You will support residents with meal service, help maintain a safe, clean dining area, and contribute to a warm, respectful home.

The job requires Serving It Right and Food Safe certificates or willingness to obtain within 30 days, plus strong customer service and English communication. Sienna Senior Living supports growth and inclusion.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Server, you will support residents’ health and well-being by assisting with meal preparation and service, ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant dining experience every day. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

What makes you a great fit?
  • Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables;
  • Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
  • Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;
  • Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
  • Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready;
  • Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness;
  • Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
What you need to know:
  • Must have the Serving it Right Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment;
  • Must have the Food Safe Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment;
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team;
  • Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset;
  • Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds;
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills required;
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit;
  • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check;
  • Sienna Senior Living may utilize artificial Intelligence to screen or assess applicants for this position;
