What You’ll Be Doing:

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager or designate, the Dining Room Server is accountable to support all aspects of hospitality-style dining room service to meet the needs of the Residents in accordance with legislative requirements and organization standards.

  1. Responsible for all aspects of hospitality-style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving, and cleaning tables;
  2. Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
  3. Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;
  4. Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
  5. Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures, and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour-ready;
  6. Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness;
  7. Works in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
What You Need to Know:
  1. Must have the Smart Serve designation OR Serve It Right (SIRS) designation (for Saskatchewan locations) and one year of experience in dining room service;
  2. Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team;
  3. Safe Food Handling Certification preferred;
  4. Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process is an asset;
  5. Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds;
  6. Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.
