Looking for an exciting and dynamic role in a fast-paced, fun environment? Century Downs Racetrack and Casino is hiring a Food & Beverage Bartender / Server to greet guests as they approach the bar and serve them with quality customer service.

The Role

As the Food & Beverage Bartender / Server, you are serving beverages from the bar, specifically making alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktails, helping servers in obtaining all their alcoholic beverages. While primarily responsible for bartending duties, the position may also require occasional shifts as a server based on business needs.

What You’ll Do
  1. Sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food to customers and staff members courteously and promptly.
  2. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Perform duties in compliance with safety procedures.
  3. Wash glassware, cut fruit, stock beverages and supplies. Assist with keeping a clean and organized work environment.
  4. Provide quality service in order to encourage customers to purchase bar services.
  5. Act to consistently maintain a properly stocked, clean and well-organized bar always. Ensure that all liquor controls are closely monitored and tightly maintained.
  6. Monitor cash-flow and comply with money handling procedures, as directed. Act to prevent loss and theft, and to maintain the integrity of all cash and comp transactions.
  7. Monitor customers for intoxication, discontinue alcohol sales, and inform security and immediate supervisor. Alert supervisor and security of customers who may be difficult or possibly violent.
  8. Serve food and beverages to customers and staff members as promptly and courteously as possible. Clean tables when necessary.
  9. Coordinate bartending activities with the rounds and breaks of Cocktail Servers.
  10. Promote events in gaming, slots, the restaurant and other areas, as required or requested.
  11. Develop, maintain and enhance positive relations with all customers and staff members.
  12. Alert supervisor of any concerns regarding the quality, selection and variety of all beverages and food.
  13. Comply with established security policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain alertness for the performance of all responsibilities, and before acting, exercise caution and evaluate circumstances for appropriate security or safety response. Seek supervision and guidance from the supervisor, as needed or directed.
  15. Take all training courses as required by Casino Management.
  16. Report to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work.
  17. Wear and maintain all uniforms properly.
  18. All other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
  1. Education / Experience: High School Diploma. A combination of education and experience may be considered. One (1) or more years of recent and related bartending experience, preferably within hospitality, a restaurant or gaming environment.
  2. Skills: Demonstrated bartending experience, preferably within hospitality, a restaurant or gaming environment. Experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Additionally, experience problem-solving, organizing and prioritizing work.
  3. Certifications: AGLC ProServe certification and the ability to pass a criminal record check.
