Your Impact

The Global Security Team at OpenText is dedicated to safeguarding our people, property, and operations globally. As a key member of the Protective Services program, the Sr. Security Specialist / Analyst will develop and execute risk-based strategies across Employee and Executive Protection, Travel Risk Management, Corporate Event Security, and Threat Assessment and Investigation.

Based in Waterloo, Ontario, reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Security – Protective Services, this role advances a proactive, intelligence-led approach to personnel security.

What The Role Offers

Responsibilities include :

  • Implementing and managing employee and executive protection, travel risk management, and global event security programs.
  • Developing policies, procedures, and risk assessment methodologies for security programs.
  • Creating tools to assess and mitigate risks to executives and travelers.
  • Conducting risk assessments for travel and integrating findings into recommendations.
  • Managing security plans for global corporate events.
  • Providing reports and briefings on geo-political risks.
  • Coordinating with security agencies during travel and events.
  • Using technology to monitor risks in real time.
  • Developing security awareness and training programs.
  • Preparing security content and resources.
  • Collaborating on security policies and training materials.
  • Researching and recommending process improvements.
  • Supporting security projects and monitoring their progress.
  • Preparing reports for leadership and supporting budget activities.

What You Need To Succeed

  • A service-oriented, customer-focused mindset.
  • Relevant education or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in operational security, including employee and executive protection, travel risk, and event security, preferably with international exposure.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Expertise in threat and risk management methodologies.
  • Experience with event security at international events.
  • Familiarity with OSINT tools and social media analysis.
  • Interest in geopolitical and security trends.
  • Support for Threat Risk Assessments and monitoring of high-risk countries.
  • Strong skills in developing security processes and training.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and business acumen.
  • Understanding of risk principles applied to security.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and respond to incidents across time zones.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and traveling internationally.
