Job description

We are looking for a Senior Workday Test Engineer with Workday HCM (Recruiting) testing experience. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and executing comprehensive test strategies for Workday Recruiting implementations, workflows, and integrations, while heavily driving automated testing initiatives using Java/Python and AI-assisted tools.

In this role, you will

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Workday HCM modules (Specifically Recruiting)
• Perform functional, integration, system, and UAT testing for Workday HCM (Recruiting) implementations.
• Develop automated scripts utilizing Python and/or Java paired with Selenium for robust UI and workflow validation.
• Automate regression testing for Workday to ensure existing configurations and integrations remain stable.
• Participate in Workday releases, feature testing, and system validation.
• Manage defect lifecycles, conduct root cause analysis, and drive issues through to resolution using agile tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.

Required skills

• 5-10 years of professional software testing experience, with a strong focus on Workday HCM (Specifically Recruiting module testing).
• Should have knowledge or hands-on functional testing experience across the Workday HCM Recruiting module.
• Must have strong practical experience in test automation using Python and/or Java, alongside web automation with Selenium.
• Experience leveraging GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted script development.
• Proficiency with JIRA for agile testing and issue tracking.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing priorities.

Total compensation

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 60,000 – 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.

Working arrangements

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a Cognizant or client office in Toronto, ON.
