Job summary

WSP in Atlantic Canada is seeking a Senior Water & Wastewater Treatment Lead to provide technical leadership, mentor talent, and guide multidisciplinary teams on high-impact municipal and industrial projects that protect public health and the environment.

You will oversee planning, design, and commissioning from concept to operation, collaborate with national experts, and help grow WSP's water and wastewater practice across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical or related Engineering is required.
• P.Eng. designation in Canada and eligibility to practice in Nova Scotia is required.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in the water and wastewater industry, or 10+ years with strong leadership capabilities.
• Extensive experience leading planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater facilities.
• Strong expertise in treatment process evaluation, optimization, and infrastructure planning.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead engineering teams.
• Demonstrated success developing client relationships and contributing to business development.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel across Atlantic Canada.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for water and wastewater treatment in Atlantic Canada, providing strategic direction, technical excellence, mentorship, and project leadership.
• Collaborate with WSP's national Water and Wastewater team and subject matter experts across Canada.
• Lead planning, design, and delivery of complex municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects from concept through commissioning.
• Provide senior technical leadership for treatment design, facility upgrades, optimization studies, and capital programs.
• Mentor and develop engineers, designers, and technical professionals.
• Build and strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities to grow WSP's water & wastewater practice.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams through all project phases, including studies, design, tendering, construction, and commissioning support.
• Review and approve technical reports, specifications, calculations, and design deliverables for quality and regulatory compliance.
• Support strategic pursuits, proposals, and business development initiatives.
