As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will join our Guelph, London or Oakville, Ontario office as part of our Eastern Surface Water Engineering team. In this role, the successful applicant will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of large and small-scale projects, mentor junior staff, engage with clients and stakeholders, and deliver excellent work in their area(s) of expertise.

The successful applicant will lead and support projects across various disciplines and markets within water resources, with a focus that aligns with their expertise. Depending on their skillset, responsibilities may include:

  • Restoration and Geomorphology – manage the design and execution of stream, river, and wetland restoration projects; complete geomorphic and hydraulic analyses to evaluate channel erosion thresholds; and assist in erosion hazard assessment studies and risk assessment
  • Infrastructure – provide project management and engineering support for hydraulic structures, bank protection, LID, master drainage plans, asset management, flood assessment and mitigation; complete asset management studies and inventories for municipal clients; provide guidance and senior support during construction projects
  • Modelling – manage and direct hydrologic and hydraulic modelling projects for flood risk assessments, watershed planning, and infrastructure design; use industry standard water resource modelling software to carry our predictive analysis on watersheds, drainage systems, and channel hydraulics

What We Are Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering
  • Licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
  • 10+ years of experience in water resources engineering, specifically related to the assessment, design, permitting and construction of water resources projects
  • Comprehensive understanding of provincial and federal legislation in relation to the water resource sector
  • Experience with stormwater management planning and design concepts, flooding impact assessment methodology and municipal infrastructure design
  • Knowledge and experience with HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, and other hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and business development efforts of various sizes and complexity simultaneously
  • Strong ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and written
  • Possess a valid Class G driver’s license and a clean driving record.
