Job description

Job Title: Senior VAT Consultant (6-Month Contract)

This is a globally recognized business offering an opportunity for a Senior VAT Consultant to join the Corporate Tax and VAT team on a 6-month contract. The main responsibilities include:

  1. Working closely with Finance, Logistics, Marketing, and Legal teams to understand VAT treatments and accounting for business transactions.
  2. Identifying when external advice is necessary, gathering relevant information, and drafting proposals for review.
  3. Providing input on VAT-related queries from HMRC, working alongside tax team colleagues, and proactively managing ongoing discussions to maintain regular communication with HMRC.
  4. Managing VAT opportunities and risks by proposing and delivering solutions within appropriate timeframes.
  5. Updating internal policies and procedures as needed.
Candidate Attributes:
  • Ability to build relationships across the business and explain VAT implications to non-tax specialists.
  • Capability to meet deadlines and work autonomously.
  • ACA / ACCA / CTA qualification or significant indirect tax experience.
  • Experience with indirect tax implications related to selling goods, including cross-border supplies.
  • Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation and compliance issues.

Ideal candidates will be available to start on short notice and be open to a hybrid working arrangement. We consider applications from all candidates demonstrating the necessary skills, regardless of PQE or salary expectations.
