Job summary

Arch Insurance Canada Ltd. is seeking an Underwriting Operations Analyst to support day-to-day operations for our retail and delegated authority businesses in Canada. You will work closely with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Brokers, and external partners to ensure accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting of premium and claims activity.

This hands-on role suits a proactive insurance professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and across multiple business areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Insurance, or related field.
  • 4–7 years in insurance operations, underwriting support, claims, or premium accounting.
  • Experience with insurance administration systems and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and team-building skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day ops across retail and delegated authority businesses.
  • Process, review, and reconcile premium/claims bordereaux (BDX).
  • Investigate and resolve premiums, claims, billing, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly accruals, reconciliations, and management reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute operational and financial reports including KPIs.
  • Support audits, reviews, and delegated authority oversight.
  • Collaborate across Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Brokers, and partners.
  • Adhere to controls and risk management standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements and special projects.

About The Role

As an Underwriting Operations Analyst, you will support the day-to-day operations of our retail and delegated authority businesses. Working closely with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Brokers, and external partners, you will help ensure the accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting of premium and claims activity.

This is a hands-on role for a proactive insurance professional who enjoys working across multiple areas of the business in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support operational activities across retail and delegated authority businesses
  • Process, review, and reconcile premium and claims bordereaux (BDX) received from delegated authority partners
  • Investigate and resolve premiums, claims, billing, and reporting discrepancies
  • Assist with monthly accruals, reconciliations, and management reporting
  • Prepare and distribute operational and financial reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Support internal and external audits, operational reviews, and delegated authority oversight activities
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Brokers, and external partners to resolve issues and improve processes, building strong relationships in the process
  • Adhere to internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management standards
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and special projects
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Insurance, or a related field
  • 4-7 years of experience in insurance operations, underwriting support, claims operations, premium accounting, or a related role
  • Experience working with insurance administration systems and operational processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and team building skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Preferred
  • Experience with delegated authority business, MGAs, or third-party administrators.
  • Experience reviewing and reconciling premium and claims data / bordereaux.
  • Knowledge of commercial or specialty insurance operations.
  • Experience with BI and AI tools

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

CAD $85,000 TO $95,000

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
