We have an excellent career opportunity with our RBC High Net Worth underwriting team. A key objective of this role is to provide a reliable and positive experience by confidently owning risk decisions and ensuring our Private Client Insurance Specialists feel supported and professionally engaged.
As a Senior Underwriter, you will ensure consistent, fair, and valuable communication with our agent partners. Developing meaningful relationships is fundamental to the success of the business. You will play a meaningful role in delivering exclusive service, balancing the agent’s needs against the corporate priorities to enable profitable growth and underwriting excellence.
What you’ll do
- Deliver superior quality service, aiming for first point resolution in all interactions.
- Maintain an informed mindset and challenge the status quo to provide the best underwriting service.
- Analyze data, pricing, and coverage, tailoring the product to meet the specific needs of Ovation customers.
- Negotiate coverage options and premium while maintaining underwriting discipline and profitability.
- Prepare new business quotes; process endorsements, renewals, and inspections.
- Order and analyze reports, including claims histories and driver’s abstracts.
- Navigate multiple applications at the same time, including Guidewire Policy Centre, Salesforce, Five9, and other web-based applications.
- Effectively prioritize tasks to ensure delivery in a timely manner.
- Exhibit a high degree of integrity when representing RBC High Net Worth to our agent partners, working with team members and leaders, and with key stakeholders at Aviva Canada Inc. & RBC.
- Continuously update soft skills and product/industry knowledge through internal and external learning opportunities.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of High Net Worth property insurance experience
- CIP, FCIP, CRM designation either completed or in progress
- Ability to interact in a professional manner to develop long-term relationships with agent partners
- Ability to listen to agent and customer needs to effectively and efficiently meet them
- Ability to work with internal business partners to deliver a great agent and customer experience
- Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong and effective analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Superior time management, a pro-active mindset, and demonstrated productivity in a hybrid environment
