The Opportunity :

The purpose of this role is to underwrite new business and renewals within specified guidelines and authority levels, supporting the development of a profitable Cyber insurance class. This involves implementing underwriting strategies, building relationships, and making sound decisions to drive business growth and profitability within assigned territories. The role plays a critical part in achieving overall profitability and success in the Cyber underwriting business.

  • Location : Chicago, IL - MN, Remote - IN, Remote - MI, Remote
  • Work Arrangement : This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week
  • The salary range for this role is between $75,000 - $123,500

The Role :
  • Manage underwriting activities across multiple distribution channels.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in product development, innovation, and testing.
  • Participate in relevant meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines and policy changes, recommending changes to company policies and procedures where appropriate.
  • Establish and promote the company image with key clients.
  • Evaluate risk for new business and renewals to ensure profitable growth.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice to minimize risks and maximize efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of channel strategic plans.
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, internal audit, and other governance and compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Compensation :

    The salary range for this role is provided above. The offer will be based on role complexity, location, and candidate background. Beyond the base salary, employees are eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on performance. We encourage all candidates to apply, even if salary expectations fall outside this range.
