Job description

Our client is one of the world's leading insurance underwriters.

As a Senior Underwriter working out of the downtown Toronto office, you would manage a portfolio which would require you to develop / maintain relationships with brokers and senior executives from major publicly traded Canadian companies.

Key Responsibilities include :

• Underwriting D&O portfolio and industry classes
• Relationship management and servicing of brokers
• Risk / financial assessment and development of underwriting solutions
• Growing the target business
• Occasional traveling to support broker relationships.
• College / University education with emphasis on Business / Finance preferred
• Advanced skills in analyzing and interpreting financial statements
• 5+ years working experience in a professional environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven organizational, time management, presentation and negotiation skills
• Emphasis on being detail oriented
• Good problem solving ability
• Willingness to be flexible and take initiative
• Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as in a team oriented approach to accomplish goals
• Knowledge of systems and PC applications (Windows, Outlook, MSWord, Excel, and data processing systems)
• Bilingualism (English / French) is an asset.
