Job summary

Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Senior Mine Engineer / Planner to provide senior‑level engineering support at an active mining operation on a 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out rotation, with camp accommodations and travel to site. You will develop short and long‑term mine plans, optimize stope sequencing, review methods, and mentor junior engineers.

You will collaborate with geology, operations, and technical services to boost safety, productivity, and efficiency while upholding engineering

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
10+ years of progressive mine engineering experience.
Strong underground mining experience with planning, stope design, and production optimization.
Experience with ventilation systems and mine infrastructure planning is a plus.
Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Provide senior-level mine engineering support to mining operations and project teams.
Develop and maintain short-term and long-term mine plans, schedules, and production strategies.
Support underground mine planning, including stope layouts and sequencing.
Review and optimize mining methods, designs, and operational approaches.
Provide ventilation planning and air requirements guidance.
Collaborate with geology, operations, and technical services to improve performance.
Prepare engineering designs, reports, and technical studies.
Mentor junior engineers and staff; implement engineering standards and best practices.
