Job summary

Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Senior Mine Engineer/Planner to support an active mine operation on a 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out rotation with camp accommodations and travel support. The role emphasizes multi‑disciplinary problem solving and mentoring junior engineers.

The successful candidate will develop short/long-term mine plans, optimize production, and lead safety and efficiency improvements across underground operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive mine engineering experience.
• Strong underground mining experience with planning, stope design, and production optimization.
• Experience with mine planning software (Deswik/Vulcan/Datamine).
• Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level mining engineering support to operations and project teams.
• Develop and maintain short- and long-term mine plans and production strategies.
• Support underground mine planning including stope layouts and sequencing.
• Review mining methods, designs, and operational approaches.
• Provide ventilation planning and mine infrastructure inputs.
• Collaborate with geology, operations, maintenance, and technical services.
