As a Senior UI Artist you are responsible for crafting our project’s first impression. You set the tone of the experience through skillful use of typography, iconography, and animation. We are looking for an ambitious UI artist with a burning desire to craft the user interface of the future. This role will work under the guidance of our UI Art Director and report to our Production Line Director, based in our studio in Vancouver, Canada.

Responsibilities:

Establish the visual language of the UI through iconography, typography, visual hierarchy, and motion design under the guidance of the UI Art Director.

Craft a UI design system that provides an immersive and coherent gaming experience to our players during interface navigation.

Partner closely with the UX design leadership to ensure cohesion across disciplines.

Create high-fidelity UI screens, character and weapon presentations using pre-vis tools and in-game files.

Create in-game branding, live service seasonal customization, and mode distinction through design elements.

Partner with Engineers and UI Technical Designers to implement and ensure quality in-engine.

Provide guidance and feedback on visual designs, illustrations or renders, motion design, and their implementation to ensure proper execution.

Skills Required:

Thorough understanding of color theory, typography, layout, user flow, and motion design principles.

Mastery of static asset creation tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

Mastery of UI/UX prototyping tools such as FIGMA, Adobe XD, Sketch or InVision.

Excellent technical ability with a thorough understanding of Maya, Blender or similar 3D modeling software.

Ability to distill complex concepts into concise presentations that showcase design systems and sensibilities to stakeholders.

Passion for innovating in the user interface space and refining production techniques.

High degree of self-motivation and initiative.

Strong planning and prioritization skills

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
