HOW YOULL MAKE AN IMPACT :

Collaborating with cross functional business partners across Carters and reporting to the Sr. Category Manager eCommerce the Sr. Translator will be primarily responsible for all English to French external assets involving duties related to our eCommerce site. In addition the translator may need to assist in the translation of print media posters videos policies & procedures and training is remote but onsite as needed in our corporate office in Mississauga.

Translation Services :

  • Leads oversees and executes internal and external translation needs such as eCommerce marketing visual and merchandising
  • Mitigates translation requests from all business units such as eCommerce and Marketing.
  • Ensures all Province laws / guidance are adhered to with all translation requests.
  • Translates print media posters videos sound clips and training content.
  • Owns and curates content on the French eCommerce site ensuring accuracy and proper localization of French content across the site maintaining linguistic and cultural relevance.
  • Maintains a translation database that includes proprietary company phrases acronyms and verbiage to ensure consistency throughout all store materials.
  • Proofreads and edits documents for accuracy and clarity while ensuring the brand voice and company values are maintained.
  • Reviews translations completed by internal and external translators.
  • Assesses day-to-day priorities and business needs to ensure timely delivery of translated materials.
  • Ensures correct grammar punctuation tone / voice tense and company style guide is followed.
  • Collaborates influences and ensures accountability to translation timelines.
  • Elicits consistent feedback from French speaking teams on translations and communications.
  • Participates in meetings and conference calls with French speaking teams.
  • Provides guidance and consultation on cultural norms to better communicate with teams.

WED LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF :

Must have :

  • Fluent in French Canadian with an understanding of Qubcois culture and language.
  • Degree or diploma in translation or a related field.
  • 5 years of professional French-Canadian translation experience.
  • Experience in Branding / Marketing eCommerce or Communication as an asset.
  • Experience with translation systems / tools preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving communications organizational and relationship-building skills.
  • High degree of confidentiality.
  • Experience working under tight deadlines on multiple projects.
  • Ability to contribute and collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.

Preferred skills and experience :

  • Experience with Translation tools preferred.
