Job description

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Rehabilitation Services, and demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Senior Physiotherapist is responsible for performing duties of the Staff Physiotherapist. This includes providing high-quality service through the development, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of clinical, educational, and research programs, as well as performing other related duties as directed.

Experience

  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in the relevant clinical area.

Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)

  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in physiotherapy from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
  • Where required by provincial licensing, must have completed the written component of the Physiotherapy Competency Exam and successfully complete the practical component within the mandatory two-year timeframe as a condition of employment.

Certification / Licensure / Registration

  • Must be registered on the Practicing Roster of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba. Membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association is preferred.
  • CPR training requirements shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.

  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines, demonstrating professional judgment and initiative.

  • Ability to organize and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to adapt to new concepts, techniques, and best practices in healthcare and education.
  • Computer literacy appropriate to the setting.
