  • Carry out testing, acceptance, and maintenance activities for Victoria Class Submarine (VCS) systems and equipment.
  • Act as a Test Director, leading multidisciplinary teams during testing activities.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and corrective maintenance.
  • Contribute to problem-solving, articulating technical issues, solutions, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Work effectively within technical teams and lead small to medium projects.
  • Provide mentorship to other Test Specialists.
  • Respond to dynamic program requirements in a shipyard environment.
  • Draft and review test and lockout/tagout documentation.
  • Identify risks and opportunities during testing and maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as required.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Strong technical skills with post-secondary education in electrical engineering technology or equivalent experience.
  • Registration as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T), or eligibility to register within 12 months.
  • 8+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience in marine, offshore, naval vessels, or submarine operations is an asset.
  • Experience operating, testing, or commissioning electrical systems is an asset.
  • Knowledge in electrical systems and electronics, including:
    • AC systems and power distribution
    • DC control systems
    • Submarine mission systems (communications, navigation, sonar, sensors)
    • Fibre optics
    • Uninterruptible power supplies and switching
    • System performance testing in new or retro-commissioning contexts
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Eligibility for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
