Job summary

QNX, a division of BlackBerry Limited, is seeking a Senior Software Developer in Test for a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave coverage within the Power Management Test Team. You will develop automated test frameworks, investigate complex system issues, and support high-quality releases on embedded hardware platforms.

This role requires 5+ years in Python, C, and shell scripting, plus extensive experience in test automation and Linux, with strong debugging, planning, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of programming in Python, C and shell scripting.
• 5+ years of test automation development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Linux experience.
• Knowledge of Power Management testing on different hardware.
• Solid understanding of formal test theory, test methodology, and automated testing tools.
• Experience writing test plans and test cases, executing tests and reporting results.
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience.
• Ability to work independently and deliver with accountability.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize automated test cases to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Debug, analyze test results, document defects, and verify fixes.
• Produce detailed test reports with high accuracy.
• Execute test suites on new software builds using reference and customer hardware.
• Maintain test lab environments.
• Create, update, and maintain test plans and test cases based on product requirements.
• Configure, integrate, and validate software on embedded hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with software developers and fellow test engineers.
• Reproduce and investigate reported issues using systematic debugging and root-cause analysis techniques.
