The Opportunity

PLATO

PLATO is Canada's only Indigenous-led, Indigenous-staffed software testing services firm. We work with quality people who share our passion for quality testing. Our team believes that better software leads to a better world. We are committed to building strong communities by training and employing members of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit communities across Canada, aiming to build a network of 1000 Indigenous software testers. Our offices are located on or near Indigenous communities in Ottawa, Fredericton, Sault Ste Marie, Regina, Calgary, and Vancouver.

We are actively looking for a Senior Test Automation Specialist for our client project.
Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, and implement automation strategies, frameworks, and test scripts
  2. Identify and document defects during test execution using defect tracking tools
  3. Participate with clients in prioritizing testing activities
  4. Analyze and interpret results to identify issues and propose solutions
  5. Consult with clients on test automation implementation
Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • Must have Federal Secret Clearance and have resided in Canada for the past 10 years
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of test automation experience across at least three projects/roles
  • Experience testing Web, Desktop, API, and Enterprise solutions
  • Experience with automation tools like Selenium, Robot, WebDriverIO, Playwright, Tosca
  • Expertise in more than one programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#
  • Excellent communication and consulting skills
  • Willing to work onsite at one of our office locations

Preferred:

  • Experience with Robot Framework and Python
  • Experience with CI tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab
  • Experience in automated API testing tools like ReadyAPI, Postman
  • Experience with mobile testing on iOS and Android
  • Continuous learner, up-to-date with industry best practices
  • Strong time management, self-motivated, detail-oriented
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
Core Skills

Qualified for Secret Security clearance, experience with Selenium, Robot, WebDriverIO, Playwright, Tosca, and expertise in Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
