The Senior Technologist, Network Operations will provide the necessary technical and problem resolution skills to implement and manage LEO-based customer experience and support services for LEO services and products. They will be responsible for implementing the service, integrating it into daily operations, and managing system fault/problem resolution to meet operational requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as the lead for the CSR/NOC and internal team to implement services, maximize automation, and support workflow for customer requirements and NOC and CSR functions.
- Develop and manage technical and administrative implementation plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Integrate supervisory and BOSS systems for fault detection and resolution.
- Conduct interdepartmental meetings to determine infrastructure, systems, and manpower needs.
- Develop project milestones and ensure timely progress.
- Escalate sensitive customer issues to management as needed.
- Monitor customer performance and service experience, and seek additional support when necessary.
- Use emergency procedures to communicate activities to management and stakeholders.
- Identify and document program deficiencies and develop plans to address them.
- Manage relationships with sales, engineering, operations, and vendors to ensure contracted services are delivered.
- Assist with scheduling and project management related to customer service issues or system faults.
- Participate in interdepartmental planning meetings.
- Exercise independent judgment and analytical skills to solve complex problems.
- Support CSR/NOC functions as a technical liaison for GEO/LEO transitions.
- Create technical procedures and training materials to support fault resolution activities.
Education & Experience Required
- Electronics Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years in telecommunications
- 3+ years in a Telecom NOC environment
- Experience in customer relations, team leadership, and supporting systems/services
- Effective communication, presentation, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bilingualism is preferred
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Background in satellite telecommunications technology
- Knowledge of RF transmission principles and test equipment
- Knowledge of telecom protocols and network routing/testing
- Experience with L2 services and MEF implementation is a plus
- Experience with supervisory/control systems in operations
- Knowledge of real-time data collection and analysis in operational systems
