Overview:
As a Senior Technician - Structured cabling, you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, and maintenance of structured cabling systems for our clients. You will lead a team of technicians and oversee the planning and execution of cabling projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. Your expertise in structured cabling, along with your leadership abilities, will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet our clients' requirements.


What you will be doing:

  1. Lead a team of structured cabling technicians in the installation, termination, and testing of copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
  2. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop project plans and timelines.
  3. Conduct site surveys and assess requirements for cabling projects.
  4. Document structured cabling systems based on industry standards and client specifications.
  5. Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables, connectors, and related components.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with cabling systems, including signal quality, connectivity, and performance.
  7. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  8. Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians.
  9. Maintain accurate documentation of cabling installations, including labeling, diagrams, and test results.
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cabling systems with other network infrastructure components.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.

What you must have:

  1. 5+ years of experience in structured cabling installation and maintenance.
  2. In-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices for copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
  3. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams.
  4. Experience leading and managing a team of cabling technicians.
  5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  6. Familiarity with testing equipment and tools used in structured cabling.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  9. Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, CFOT, Specific Manufacturer training) are a plus.
  10. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites as required.
