As a Senior Technician, Corporate Accounting, you'll support key accounting processes including accounts payable, employee expense reimbursements, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting activities. You'll play an important role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of BCI's financial operations while serving as a key resource for internal stakeholders. Working closely with employees across BCI, you'll ensure transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with corporate policies and internal controls. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong relationship-building skills, and a client-focused approach.
This role sits within the Finance department, part of BCI Operations, supporting investment and corporate accounting, valuations, and financial reporting to BCI's clients. Finance also leads budgeting, tax structuring and compliance, finance operations, procurement, and investment performance and analytics, and works closely with teams across BCI, as well as auditors and external advisors, to deliver timely, accurate, and relevant financial information. You will be part of the Corporate Accounting branch, which is responsible for the accurate and timely recording and reporting of corporate financial transactions. Corporate Accounting works collaboratively across BCI to maintain the integrity of financial records, support compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements, and continuously improve processes.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Technician exercises sound judgement, supports the adoption of new systems and process improvements, and ensures policies, procedures, and controls are clearly understood and consistently applied.
This role is based in our downtown Victoria, BC office. Relocation support is available if needed. BCI is an in-person, collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely up to one day per week.
The annualized base salary range for this role is CAD $78,000 to $89,000. BCI offers a competitive total rewards package, including a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, and paid time off. We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we operate and with consideration for internal equity and job structure. The base salary will consider factors such as the individual's skill set, experience, and internal equity. We aim for actual pay to be around the market median for expected performance and the upper quartile for excellent performance. Actual salaries may vary based on experience and expertise.
