This is a remote position and we're considering candidates in Canada only. Residents of Quebec are not eligible for this role.

Description of Duties

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation and guides for Grafana Labs. You will collaborate with engineers, developer advocates, support engineers, product managers, and the Grafana technical writing team to produce tailored content that ensures our products are easy to learn and rapidly adopted.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with other technical writers, product managers, and internal stakeholders to understand the product and documentation requirements.
  2. Plan, research, develop, and write high-quality content tailored to Grafana customers.
  3. Interview developers and engineers to gain knowledge of the software and its context.
  4. Create content for beginners, such as examples and getting started guides.
  5. Collaborate to improve existing documentation, maintain consistency, and enhance user experience.
Requirements

What experience would make someone successful in this role?

  1. Experience documenting enterprise and/or cloud software for developers.
  2. Experience with Git and GitHub.
  3. Experience working remotely.
  4. Experience with software testing tools and services.
  5. Experience in a docs-as-code environment.

Experience with observability solutions or open source communities is a plus.

You’re passionate about technically accurate content, adept at managing multiple projects, and enjoy collaborative and independent work. You are familiar with “The Elements of Style”.

Compensation and Benefits

In Canada, the base salary range is $120,927 CAD - $145,113 CAD. Actual compensation depends on experience and skills. Benefits include equity, bonuses, and other perks detailed on our careers page.
