  • Create and maintain technical documents by applying clear and concise language to communicate complex scientific information, including on-time delivery of PIS’s for product launches
  • Lead abstract review and poster generation processes, ensuring delivery of high-quality scientific posters within short timeframes, and coordinate with the Technical Writing team to peer review external-facing product information such as posters, brochures, etc.
  • Review and manage completion of various scientific reports to support critical corporate budget activities
  • Maintain the database, including curation and maintaining all relevant files in an up-to-date, technically accurate, user-friendly manner while also ensuring internal consistency with other product information
  • Work collaboratively with scientists, product managers, and other relevant stakeholders to finalize various documentation through interdepartmental approval processes
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, including reviewing work produced and offering assistance

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences and previous experience in scientific writing and/or scientific research resulting in 6-10 years of experience; certification in technical writing is an asset
  • Fluent in English with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly proficient in proofreading and copyediting, ideally with demonstrated experience editing multiple document types from different authors and completing standardized and templated documents (a portfolio or examples are recommended and seen as an asset)
  • Above average knowledge of Adobe Suite (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, inDesign) is required (scientific poster generation experience is desirable), as is extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Google Productivity tools
  • Experience using databases or performing data entry is an asset, as is any prior usage of product information management systems
