Job summary

Sago Mini in Toronto, part of Spin Master, seeks a Senior Technical Product Owner for Tools & Scalability to operationalize the technical vision of the Piknik subscription platform. You will own the Platform-as-a-Product foundation—including internal tools, release pipelines, and our shared SDK (Unity/C#).

Your focus is building scalable infrastructure and developer-experience workflows that allow multiple app teams to deploy high‑quality content quickly and safely.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of technical product ownership or leadership for mobile apps, SDKs, or internal platforms.
• Strong technical foundation for architecture discussions and debt evaluation.
• Familiarity with Unity and C# development environments.
• Experience with App Store/Google Play, IAPs, and subscription infrastructure.
• Experience managing shared SDKs or developer tools for seamless integration.
• Degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Tools & Scalability product roadmap and balance build vs debt.
• Provide infrastructure and workflows for conversion, retention, and integration teams.
• Coordinate platform-wide architectural refactors with minimal disruption.

What will you work on?

As the Senior Technical Product Owner for Tools & Scalability at Sago Sago Toys Inc., you will operationalize the technical vision for the Piknik subscription platform. You will own the Platform-as-a-Product foundation—including internal tools, release pipelines, and our shared SDK (Unity/C#). Your focus is building the scalable infrastructure and developer-experience workflows that allow multiple app teams to deploy high-quality content quickly and safely.

• Drive the Tools & Scalability product roadmap, making pragmatic decisions on when to build new tools, pay down technical debt, or expand the core SDK.
• Provide conversion, retention, and integration squads with the reliable infrastructure and backend workflows needed to ship features.
• Coordinate complex, platform-wide architectural refactors, mitigating risk and minimizing integration disruption for downstream game studios.
• Manage the daily sprint rhythm, roadmap prioritization, and backlog grooming for developer, UX, and QA team members.
• Identify and eliminate integration friction to champion an optimal developer experience across internal and external app teams.
• Translate complex technical architecture into business outcomes, and business goals into clear technical constraints for the engineering team.

What are your skills and experience?

• Proven track record of technical product ownership or product leadership for mobile apps, SDKs, or internal developer platforms.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to actively contribute to architectural discussions, evaluate technical debt, and define system constraints.
• Familiarity with the Unity engine and C# development environments.
• Deep understanding of the mobile app ecosystem, including App Store and Google Play console management, in‑app purchases (IAPs), subscription infrastructure, and mobile release trains.
• Strong expertise managing shared SDKs, APIs, or developer tools with a focus on seamless integration.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical technical experience.

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in Ontario is $115,000 to $145,000 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.

About the Process

• Next, a 45min technical phone interview with live coding challenges and technical Q&A will happen to assess your tech skills.
• Final Round (2 Parts):
  • Part 1: Technical Session (60 min): You’ll team up with members of our Web Platform team to collaborate on a few new coding challenges.
  • Part 2: Cross‑Functional Chat (45 min): A casual chat with a cross‑functional group to discuss your past experience and see how you like to work.
